Biography

Elena Mugellini is currently Professor at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, Fribourg (EIA-FR). She teaches several courses among which Basic and Advanced Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interfaces, Multimodal Interfaces, Intelligent Data AnalysisWeb Technologies, Project Management.

She is also responsible of HumanTech Research Institute. Her research interests are mainly in the domain of intelligent environment, tangible interfaces, multimodal interaction, intelligent data analysis and information management.

She holds a PhD in Telematics and Information Society granted from the University of Florence (Italy), and a Master in Telecommunication Engineering from the same university.

From January 2007 to December 2008, she has worked as Assistant Professor at the Information and Communication Technology Institute of University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, Fribourg.

From January to December 2006, she has worked as research assistant in the MISG group of the Information and Communication Technology Institute of University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, Fribourg, in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, Tangible and Multimodal Interaction and Document Engineering research fields.
